Facility Manager, Saskatchewan Centre for Cyclotron Sciences

The Sylvia Fedoruk Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation Inc. (Fedoruk Centre) is seeking a qualified and experienced leader to serve as Facility Manager of the Saskatchewan Centre for Cyclotron Sciences (SCCS).  The Facility Manager will be responsible for:

  • operating a cyclotron and attached facilities for processing of irradiated target material  including production and synthesis of radiopharmaceuticals;
  • maintaining the facility in a state of readiness for access by researchers from academia and industry, to support their programs of research and development towards clinical or commercial applications;
  • optimizing operational cost-effectiveness and efficiency;
  • ensuring operational compliance with regulations of Canadian and University authorities; and
  • supporting business development associated with the SCCS.

The SCCS is owned by the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) and operated by the Fedoruk Centre.  The new $25 million facility features a high-current ACSI TR24 cyclotron; a cGMP radiopharmaceutical laboratory including hot cells, auto-synthesis units and a quality control system (HPLC, GC, TLC); and a suite of offices, all located in 1400 square meters of newly renovated space.  The cyclotron and chemical processing facilities are co-located with 600 square meters of additional space to be developed in support of related research activities, including radiolabeling method development, and nuclear imaging on humans, animals and plants. The SCCS infrastructure is intended to facilitate collaborations and partnerships among the province’s two universities, the provincial health regions and industry.

The SCCS is located on the U of S campus, among the widest array of life sciences colleges in a single Canadian institution, in the vibrant and economically booming city of Saskatoon (, Saskatchewan’s largest city and one of the sunniest cities in Canada.

The salary range is $115,000 to $145,000 per annum.  Placement within the range is dependent upon education and experience. The compensation package includes a comprehensive benefits package including pension plan, life insurance, short and long term disability, sick leave, dental plan, extended health and vision care plan, travel insurance, employee assistance program; and relocation assistance.
